- This training increases a character's contribution to mining stations construction and enables him or her to adjust and dismantle land mines.
- This training further increases a character's contribution to mining stations construction and speeds up military stations' construction as well.
Most soldier/technicians should be trained in Minor Surveyor, so that they can dismantle mines whenever they are in missions. This is particularly useful when raiding Beastmen bases starting from middle game, where the entrances and only the entrances are mined. The alternative is usually either bringing a heavily armored drone to trigger the mines; or using a Supernatural Scouting character to carefully discover mines from a safe distance, then throw grenades on top of them to trigger.
Starting, 1 technician should be trained in Driving and Surveyor, who will spend considerable time building mines and military stations. Middle game, when Rita join as a low level techie, she can be the replacement for that one which will be more useful than her in workshop. For a technical truck driver, Major driving is a waste, and Major Surveyor is... depending, not necessary.
For dismantling mines, each action will use up a dismantling set to recover that mine (if necessary). You can think of it as trading workshop time used to produce a set to gain an alien mine.
