Times for strategic activities are measured in man-days on this wiki.
The higher level a scientist / technician is, the more man-days he or she can contributes per Mars day. Difficulty and trainings will further affect the contribution. The given numbers assume Normal difficulty with no relevant trainings.

Actual game data either presents the time in days (research and production) or in hours (events and buildings).
A Mars day has 24 hours and 39 minutes (1479 minutes per day).
Thus, event times and building times rarely translate to exact days like production and research.
For example, 
Lost Contact with Earth event takes 48 hours to happen, which is 1 Mars day plus 23 hours, rather than 2 days.
For buildings, the time displayed in game is inaccurate.
It calculates required work using 24 hours, instead of 24.65 hours, so buildings usually finish a little earlier than initial estimation.
This wiki uses the real time, rather then displayed time.
Calculation[]
The numbers in above table are averaged from raw data and rounded to two digits (with slight adjustment).
The exact formula, for the moment, is 1.2481e0.0677L, where L = technician/scientist level. This is deduced from game data; actual in-game formula is unknown.
The data is acquired from the minutes needed to setup a production line, and result is cross checked with total production time estimation and base building time, and tested with station building time and research time.
